Rules
Sixteen rules, no fine print
Read these before you stake. The one people ask about most: payments are final and non-refundable.
- 1
One deck, 52 cards
Each card is one advertising slot. There are no extra cards and no jokers. A card can only be held by one startup at a time.
- 2
Anyone can bid
There is no account. You give a website, a name, a tagline, an email for the receipt, and an amount. That is the whole entry.
- 3
Minimum $1, maximum $10,000 per payment
Amounts are in US dollars. Every payment adds to your total on that card; you can pay as many times as you like.
- 4
Highest total stake holds the card
Your rank on a card is the sum of everything you have paid for that card. The highest total holds the card: its favicon, name and tagline are printed on the face and the card links to its site.
- 5
To take a card, beat the total
Stake more than the current holder's total on that card. One dollar more is enough.
- 6
Ties go to the earlier claim
If two totals are equal, whoever claimed the card first holds it.
- 7
Getting outbid does not refund you
When someone passes you, your listing stays on the card's bid list at its new rank and your total keeps counting. Top up any time to retake the card.
- 8
The deck is ordered by top bid
On the home page, claimed cards are sorted by their holder's stake, highest first. Open cards follow in deck order.
- 9
Payments are final and non-refundable
A stake is a payment for a position, not a deposit. It is not returned when you are outbid, when you change your mind, or when a listing is removed for breaking these rules. If a payment fails or is charged twice, email hello@rojanacharya.com and we will sort it out.
- 10
Chargebacks remove the stake
A refund forced through your bank removes the stake it paid for from the card. Repeated chargebacks get the domain banned.
- 11
One website per listing
The website must be yours or your company's. We fetch its favicon for the card. Listings pointing at sites you do not own are removed.
- 12
Keep it clean
No illegal content, no adult content, no hate, no scams, no malware, no phishing, no misleading claims. We decide what crosses the line. Removed listings are not refunded.
- 13
Clicks and visits are best effort
Clicks count once per visitor per card per ten minutes. Visits count real browsers only. We filter bots and may correct counts that look inflated. Counts are not a promise of traffic.
- 14
Links are followed
Card faces, card pages and the leaderboard link straight to holders' sites with no nofollow. We may remove a link from a site that turns out to be harmful.
- 15
A card is granted only after payment clears
The card changes hands when our payment provider confirms the payment, usually within seconds. The redirect after checkout on its own grants nothing.
- 16
We can change the rules
Pricing, limits and these rules can change. Existing stakes keep their rank under the new rules.
