How it works
Fifty-two cards, one rule
The highest total stake holds the card. That is the whole game. Here is what that means in practice.
- 1
Pick a card
Any of the 52. Aces and face cards tend to go first, but a click is a click.
- 2
Stake at least $1
Type your website, we pull the favicon, you pick an amount. Checkout runs on Dodo Payments.
- 3
Hold the card
Your logo and name are printed on the face. Every click on it lands on your site, counted live.
- 4
Defend it
Anyone can outbid you. Top up any time. Your rank is your total stake, so nothing you paid is wasted.
What every holder gets, free
Followed backlinks
Plain links to your site from the deck, your card page and the leaderboard. No nofollow, no redirect in the href. Links carry utm_source=deckbid.lol so you can see the traffic in your analytics.
Your logo on a card
We pull your favicon and print it in the cameo. The card is also rendered as the share image for your card page.
A page about you
Every card has its own indexable page with your name, tagline and link, plus structured data search engines read.
AI discoverability
Holders are listed with their link in our llms.txt, the file answer engines use to learn about a site.
Live numbers
Clicks per card and human visits site-wide, bots filtered, shown on the card and in the bid sheet.
Top-ups that stack
Every payment adds to your rank on that card. Nothing you paid is lost when you climb.
Questions people ask
- What is deckbid.lol?
- A 52-card deck where each card is an ad slot. Startups stake money on a card. The startup with the highest total stake holds the card: its favicon and name are printed on the face, and clicking the card opens its website.
- How much does a card cost?
- Any amount from $1. To take the top spot you need to stake more than the current holder's total. Cards nobody has claimed cost $1.
- What does rank mean?
- Rank is your total stake on that card, summed across every payment you have made for it. Top up at any time to climb. Ties go to whoever claimed first.
- What happens when I get outbid?
- Your listing stays on the card's bid list at its new rank, and the card face switches to the new leader. Top up to retake it. Stakes are not refunded when you are outbid.
- How are clicks counted?
- Every click on a card face goes through deckbid.lol and is counted once per visitor per card per ten minutes. Known crawlers, headless browsers and clients that do not look like real browsers are ignored.
- How is the visit counter calculated?
- The visit counter only counts sessions from real browsers. Requests from bots, crawlers and automation tools are dropped before they reach the counter.
- Where does my logo come from?
- We fetch the favicon or apple-touch-icon from your website when you type the URL. If none is found we fall back to a public favicon service, then to your initial.
- What do I get for holding a card?
- A followed link (no nofollow) to your site from the deck, from your card's own page and from the leaderboard. Your favicon and name printed on the card and in the card's share image. A listing in our llms.txt for AI search engines. Live click and visit counts. Nothing else to set up.
- Can I get a refund?
- No. Payments are final and non-refundable, including when you are outbid. A chargeback removes the stake it paid for from the card. If a payment failed or was charged twice, email hello@rojanacharya.com.
- Is payment secure?
- Yes. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. We never see card numbers. A card is only granted after Dodo confirms the payment through a signed webhook.
